My thoughts on Facebook.

Facebook is one of the most popular networking sites that allow people to socialise all around the world. It is also used to communicate with friends or family and meet new peoples. Facebook is popular with teenagers and college students but nowadays everyone from the age 8-50 years old has a Facebook account. There are pros and cons using Facebook.

One of the advantages of using Facebook that it is one of the best ways to communicate. We could meet new peoples or keep in touch, reunite and finding our old, long-lost friends or family member. What springs to mind when I heard Facebook is network site. I still remember when I first heard the word Facebook in middle school when I was 10.  I would leave all my homework or do it quickly just to log in to Facebook to play Farmville or Pet Society and chat with my friends.

I don’t really like the Facebook logo because it kind of plain and boring. It is also used for other common networking site such as twitter and tumblr. I would change the logo to purple because it is my favourite colour but it would not be called Facebook anymore. I think Facebook will still running a decade from now but it will be dead or few people going to use it like MySpace and Friendster. I would prefer Twitter than Facebook because it is simple. You can just tweet whatever and whenever you like.

One of the cons of Facebook is you or your friends can accidentally post something that you will regret in the future that will also be a disaster to your career. I still remember when my best friend uploaded an embarrassing picture of me, and of course it has been deleted. Facebook could also be a waste of worthy time and it is also an easy way to replace the outside world with spending all day surfing other peoples profiles also known as stalking.

Everyone have they own opinion. Some said that it is dangerous to put your personal information on your Facebook profile because it may cause bad things. But some think opposite. It is not dangerous to put your information out there because there are always choices to delete or remove it. However, there are also disadvantages of putting too much information about your life. For the past 4 years, there are cases about teenagers or even adults committing suicide after being cyber bullied on Facebook.

The best thing about Facebook is of course, knowing people from the other side of the world. I make a lot of friends through Facebook pages with people who interested in the same thing as I did. For the past 2 years, I rarely log in or didn’t even log in at all and decided to just deactivate my account from all the notifications. That explain why I would never pay to use Facebook.
